Flu Vaccinations for Children

1st May, 2020 in News

With flu season approaching, now is a good time to have your child vaccinated. Influenza vaccination is recommended for children aged 6 months and older.

Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) offers free influenza vaccinations for its patients. If your child is due for a scheduled vaccination, this can also be done at one of SCHN’s immunisation clinics. Flu vaccinations are also available for immediate family members living in the same household.

This year, in response to COVID-19, the immunisation clinics are being run differently, to reduce the number of people entering our hospitals and help keep everyone safe. The clinics will be held in locations that can be accessed externally, so that families do not need to walk through the hospital to get to the clinic.

Bookings are essential and social distancing measures will be in place. It’s important to only attend the clinic at your scheduled time, this will help the clinic staff maintain social distancing.
