Childhood obesity

With approximately one in five children in NSW now overweight or obese, it is important that parents know how to prevent their children from becoming overweight or obese. Childhood obesity is linked to poor self-esteem, asthma, increased risk of heart disease, sleep apnoea, body dissatisfaction, fatty liver and orthopaedic complications.

Childhood obesity factsheets

To help with the management of childhood overweight the team at The Children's Hospital at Westmead (CHW) have prepared a number of fact sheets. They are available on The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN) website here.
